Our past CSF Corrections Couples Weekend Marriage Retreats were such an encouragement and
inspiration to the staff and spouses who “Walk the Toughest Beat.” We can’t wait for this year’s retreat!

Why a Corrections Couples Retreat?
If the motto of the California Correctional Peace Officers’ Association “The Toughest Beat in the State” is accurate, then marriages in Corrections may just be the toughest to successfully maintain. We know the rate of family stress in law enforcement marriages is high, and it may be even higher in Corrections.

This Weekend Marriage Retreat will allow Corrections couples to get away, relax in a safe environment, focus on themselves and their marriages, and return home better equipped to face the challenges of a Corrections marriage.

Retreat Objectives
The Weekend Marriage Retreat is designed to provide
Corrections staff and spouses with a fun, relaxing, informative, and encouraging weekend.

This retreat is exclusively for
Corrections staff (Custody, Probation, Parole) and their spouses, both active and retired. Only one spouse needs to be in Corrections. Strong marriages will be encouraged; marriages that need help and support will find it. This retreat will be presented from the traditional, biblical perspective that marriage is between a man and woman (Genesis 2:18-25).

Our retreat will begin on Friday evening with check-in beginning at 4:00 pm, and will conclude on Sunday at 12:00 noon. A detailed agenda will be provided on check-in.

This Year’s Theme: “Choosing to Thrive!” inspired by the Casting Crowns work “Thrive”

Maybe you’ve heard it before. Or maybe you’ve said it. “As long as we love each other, we know our marriage will last.” But the secret to a strong marriage is more than a feeling or an emotion. It’s six specific kinds of love that must be intentionally pursued and practiced to build a great marriage.

Also discussed will be:

  • How to survive a corrections career with your health and family intact
  • Corrections Fatigue: What it is – How to know if you have it – How to overcome it.
  • Making it Last: The Retreat’s Over – Now What?

Retreat Facilitators
The Corrections Couples Weekend Marriage Retreat is facilitated by a team of veteran
Correctional peace officers and spouses who understand the challenges of a Corrections marriage. They have learned through their own life’s journeys how to have a marriage that not only survives, but thrives!
